With over 23 years of veterinary experience, Dr. Julee Avery obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in May 2000.
Starting her career in Colorado with equine practice, she later transitioned to companion animal practice in 2005. She commissioned into the United States Army Reserve in 2009. Between 2011 and 2015, she provided healthcare to working detection dogs and other animals, in Iraq. During her time there, she also played a key role in overseeing public health events that were of concern to the US Embassy in Baghdad.
She arrived in Michigan back in 2015 to work for the FDA, where she spent four years conducting inspections and investigations of human and animal food manufacturers and growers. In early 2019, she was offered the role of veterinarian at Fremont's VetIQ, and within six months, she was promoted to District Medical Director, overseeing all PetIQ wellness centers across Michigan and New York.
Driven by a desire to expand service offerings to a severely underserved population, she founded Loving Care Animal Clinic. Her goal was to offer affordable and convenient care while also providing a wide range of services. What she finds most rewarding about veterinary medicine is witnessing the incredible bond between humans and animals. She is particularly passionate about dental care and its positive impact on the longevity of the pets she serves. She is attentive and listens carefully to all concerns, taking the time to explain things in a way that's easy to understand. Outside of work, she shares her home in White Cloud, Michigan with her two Goldendoodles, Willow and Sassafras, as well as two cats named Wookie and Mouse.
